4-cylinder engine
Removal
Drain the coolant into a suitable container.
Remove the thermostat.
Loosen the V-belt pulley bolts by pressing and holding the V-belt.
Remove the V-belt, see chapter "Engine".
Loosen the coolant hose clamps at the coolant pump.
Remove the coolant hoses, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the pump.
Rotate the pump shaft to check for ease of movement.
If the pump bearing seal is damaged or leaking, replace the entire coolant pump unit.
Installation
Install the coolant pump with a new sealing ring and tighten to a torque of 20 Nm.
Note: If only the paper sealing gasket or the bearing housing with the pump wheel were replaced, tighten the bearing housing with a torque of 10 Nm. In this case, do not tighten the bolts too much.
Install the thermostat.
Install the coolant hoses and tighten the clamps.
Screw on the V-belt pulley.
Install the V-belt, see chapter "Engine".
Fill with new coolant.
After the test drive: Check the hoses and coolant pump for leaks.
