Coolant circulation pump (VW Golf 3)

An additional electrically controlled coolant pump is included in the coolant circuit, which is connected to various parts of the cooling system by means of hoses. This pump is constantly running and also controls the radiator fan monitoring, so that a hot engine can cool for some time after the ignition is switched off.

The operation of the pump, and as a result of this, the fan monitoring, can be monitored without any difficulty if any malfunctions occur in this place. During such monitoring, the ignition must be turned off.

Disconnect the sensor connector with four connecting pins from the thermostat housing.



Connect the brown-red (D) and brown (B) cables with a connecting wire.

Check that the radiator fan and continuous water supply pump are operating.
