Removal and installation the door handle (VW Passat B3)

Removal

Remove the screw (dashed arrow). From chassis no. NE 190000 onwards, the screw installed on the right has a left-hand thread.

Move the handle in the direction of the arrow, tilt it away from the door and remove it.

Installation

Check the lining "2" and bracket "3" for damage.

Check the free travel of the door handle. The prescribed free travel value is 0-2 mm. If necessary, reduce the free travel of the door handle to the prescribed value by turning the compensating element.

Hang the door handle, press it and slide it back.

Tighten the fastening screw to a torque of 7 Nm.
