Connect the stroboscope and tachometer according to the operating instructions.
Start the engine and set the crankshaft speed to 950 rpm at idle. Direct the flashing light of the strobe light at the crankshaft pulley. If the ignition timing is set correctly, the mark on the crankshaft pulley should be aligned with the edge of the "Z" protrusion corresponding to the initial ignition advance angle before TDC, the pointer on the engine block.
To adjust the ignition timing, loosen the nut of the ignition distributor flange mounting bolt and turn the distributor housing until the marks align.
Tighten the nut of the ignition distributor flange mounting bolt.
Marks for setting the ignition timing:
1 - mark on the pulley;
2 — initial ignition angle setting mark;
3 — TDC mark
