Unlocking and locking the car

To unlock the car, point the key towards the car while in the device's coverage area and briefly press the unlock button (1). To lock the car, briefly press the lock button (2). Double-pressing the lock button (2) will deactivate the self-insurance and alarm system.

If you want to unlock or lock the car directly with the key, you must first open the key bit. To do this, press the unlock button (3). To close the key bit, you must also press this button.

When the self-insurance and alarm systems are switched on, when the car is unlocked using the radio remote control release button, all locks are automatically locked again if no side door of the car or the rear door is opened within 30 seconds. The self-insurance and alarm system are inactive during these 30 seconds. This prevents accidental unlocking of the car within the range of the radio remote control locks.

Unlocking a single door

Unlocking when the individual door unlocking mode is enabled.

To unlock the car, point the key at the car while in the radio remote control range and briefly press the unlock button (1) once. Now only the driver's door is unlocked. The self-insurance and alarm system are immediately switched off, which is accompanied by a brief flashing of all direction indicators.

Pressing the unlock button (1) twice unlocks all vehicle locks. The self-insurance and alarm system are switched off.

Synchronization

If the car does not unlock when the corresponding remote control button is pressed, it should be assumed that the codes of the key and the control unit on the car no longer match. This can happen if the control buttons have been pressed frequently outside the system's operating range.

It is necessary to resynchronize the system. The synchronization process lasts no more than 1 minute and consists of the following:

ORDER OF EXECUTION

1. Press either the unlock button (1) or the lock button (2) of your remote control key once for about one second. The vehicle remains locked. However, the control unit recognises the existing fixed code.

The original can be found at (VWManual.ru)

2. Now unlock or lock the car mechanically once using the remote control key.

3. The key blade has been identified as a valid mechanical code. A new replacement code has been matched between the key and the control unit. The synchronization process is complete.

Uncoded keys can be obtained from a Volkswagen service centre. The second key must, however, be synchronised at a Volkswagen service centre, since the anti-theft code must also be entered into the key head.

In principle, four keys with remote radio control can be used.
