The power windows remain operational for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off, as long as one of the front doors has not been opened.
When the front windows are closed, the fully automatic window lift does not work.
If the movement of the glass when closing the window of one of the front doors is difficult or obstructed, the window immediately reopens (overload protection). In this case, the window can be closed only by turning on the ignition.
On vehicles with central locking, the windows can also be closed or opened from the outside. To do this, you only need to hold the key in the lock of one of the front doors in the locking or unlocking position.
After disconnecting and then connecting the battery of a car with electric windows, the automatic lowering and lifting of the windows of the front doors ceases to function.
In order to restore the operation of automation, you must do the following:
1. Lock the car from the outside using one of the front doors. At the same time, make sure that all doors and windows are completely closed, unlock and re-lock the car using one of the front doors. While doing this, hold the key in the locked position for at least one second. Automatic lifting and lowering of the windows of the front windows will again work.
2. If there is a malfunction in the power window, this is signaled by the flashing of the illumination of the switches in the front doors, as well as in the rear doors.
3. If, after switching on the ignition, all the lights in the door trim flash for approx. 15 seconds, you should contact a Volkswagen workshop.
