Security alarm system (VW Golf 4)

The alarm system makes it much more difficult for someone to break into or steal your car. When someone breaks into your car, the alarm sounds and lights.

The alarm system is activated automatically when one of the front doors or the rear door is locked. To do this, turn the key once in the locking direction. The system is then immediately activated, accompanied by a brief flashing of all direction indicators and a characteristic sound signal.

Turning the key twice in the locking direction will disarm the alarm system.

The system is triggered if one of the doors, the hood, the rear door is opened without authorization or the ignition is turned on. In this case, the horn and direction indicators are activated for approximately 30 seconds.

After 28 days from the moment the alarm system is turned on, the control lamp goes out. This prevents the battery from discharging. If necessary, the alarm system should be reactivated.

If after the alarm signal ceases, another opening of the protected areas occurs (for example, after opening one of the doors, the back door will be opened), the "panic" mode will be turned on again.

The alarm system can also be switched on and off using the remote control of the locks.
