The gearbox is equipped with an electric-electronic and hydraulic control system, as well as a self-diagnostic system. In the electric or electronic section, any malfunctions that occur are recorded in a special memory device, so the workshop can quickly identify and eliminate the malfunctions. In addition, the gearbox can switch to emergency operation mode (engages in third gear) if a failure occurs in the forward gears, for example, the electrical circuit is interrupted, the control device or the solenoid switch is faulty.

Repair and adjustment work on automatic transmission is difficult and requires extreme caution. It requires little experience and a lot of special tools. Therefore, repair of automatic transmission is carried out almost exclusively in specialized workshops. It is necessary to control only the fluid level in the gearbox and main gear, excluding the normal test run, during which the shift positions of individual gears are checked.
