A centering mandrel is used to center the driven disk. This mandrel must be mated with the toothed engagement of the driven disk and have a journal that mates with the guide in the crankshaft. An old gearbox clutch shaft can also be used.
Experienced mechanics are also able to align the driven disk "by eye".
Tighten the clutch bolts evenly and crosswise to a torque of 25 Nm. The flywheel must be held in place again. Volkswagen workshops use a flywheel ring gear holding tool for this purpose.
The engine or gearbox is reinstalled and finally the clutch is checked.
