Connect the tachometer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Check and adjust idle speed if necessary.
Caution: Depending on the engine type, the vacuum hose on the vacuum box must be either connected or disconnected.
Remove the plug from the TDC sensor hole.
Connect the strobe light according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Start the engine and let it idle. Disconnect the temperature sensor connector and increase the engine speed to (2250±250) rpm.
Direct the stroboscope beam into the inspection hole in the clutch housing. The ignition is adjusted correctly if, when illuminated by the stroboscope, the ignition timing marks on the flywheel coincide with the reference mark on the clutch housing. If the ignition timing marks do not coincide, slightly loosen the ignition distributor mounting bolt and turn the ignition distributor until the marks coincide.
Tighten the distributor mounting bolt. If the vacuum hose was disconnected, reconnect it to the distributor and connect the temperature sensor connector.
