12. If you do not have a spring compression device, you can tie the spring turns tightly with wire in three places around the perimeter so that it does not increase in length during disassembly of the column. If the spring comes apart, it will be difficult to put it back on without a device. In this case, you should take the column to a workshop for installation
13. Secure the lower end of the column in a vice, then install the spring compressor in the required position.
14. Compress the spring until its upper seat 8 is released from the spring pressure. Unscrew nut 6 from the upper end of the column piston. The piston must be made stationary using a hex key.
15. Remove the column bearing sleeve 7, and then the upper spring seat 8.
16. Remove the spring, still compressed in the device. Do not change the position of the spring, for which its upper end must be marked, for example, with paint - this will facilitate subsequent installation.
17. Pull the support buffer 9 and protective sleeve 10 off the column piston 5, paying attention to the order in which they are installed (photo 10.4).
18. Move the shock absorber piston up and down along its entire stroke to check the uniformity of resistance (without jumps and jams) when moving. If signs of jamming or, on the contrary, lack of resistance are detected, if traces of shock absorber fluid leakage through the seal are visible, the column shock absorber must be replaced with a new one.

19. The bolt springs have a color code designation. If the springs need to be replaced with new ones, remember that the new springs of the required type must be put on with the same color and designation
Caution: Even if one suspension spring is damaged, it is recommended to replace both springs.
20. Assembly is performed in the reverse order of disassembly. Before loosening the spring compression device, it is necessary to tighten the knurled nut to the torque specified in the technical data.
