12. Without a device for compressing the springs, you can tightly tie the coils of the spring with wire in three places along the perimeter so that during disassembly of the column it does not increase in length. If the spring breaks, it will be difficult to put it back on without the device. In this case, you should take the column to the workshop for installation
13. Fix the lower end of the column in a vise, then install the spring compressor in the required position.
14. Compress the spring until its upper seat 8 is released from the pressure of the spring. Unscrew nut 6 from the top end of the dispenser piston. The piston must be immobilized with a hex wrench.
15. Remove the bearing sleeve 7 of the column, and then the upper spring seat 8.
16. Remove the spring still compressed in the instrument. Do not change the position of the spring, for which its upper end must be marked, for example, with paint - this will facilitate subsequent installation.
17. Pull off the support buffer 9 and the protective sleeve 10 from the column piston 5, while paying attention to the sequence of their installation (photo 10.4).
18. Moving the piston of the shock absorber up and down along the entire length of its stroke, check the uniformity of resistance (without jumps and jams) when moving. If signs of jamming or vice versa lack of resistance are found, if traces of shock absorber fluid leak through the seal are visible, the shock absorber of the column must be replaced with a new one.
19. Bolt springs are color coded. If the springs need to be replaced with new ones, remember to put on the new springs of the required type with the same color and designation
Attention: Even when one suspension spring is damaged, it is recommended to replace both springs.
20. Installation is carried out in the reverse order to dismantling. Before loosening the device to compress the spring, the knurled nut must be tightened to the torque specified in the technical data.
