- Rear crankshaft seal near the flywheel. Oil comes out at the junction between the engine and gearbox.
- The front crankshaft seal is visible on the right in the direction of travel of the camshaft or intermediate shaft. Oil escapes in the area of the toothed belt cover from:
- Valve cover gaskets.
- Crankcase gaskets.
- Oil pressure sensor (replace if necessary).
- The cuff under the lever near the fuel pump can release diesel fuel.
Localization of leaks
If problems occur due to leaks (oil leak), it is recommended to wash the engine thoroughly as a first step. If large oil leaks are detected, then after a few kilometers of driving it is possible to establish exactly where the oil came from.
