Worn pistons, piston rings and cylinders, as well as leaky valves can be the causes of poor compression pressure. If the valves are still in good condition, it is enough to do an additional grinding. Defective valves should be replaced and new ones additionally lapped. To perform this job, you will need a special valve lapping paste and a lapping tool.
Remove valves.
Lubricate the sealing surface of the valve with grinding paste, reinsert the valve into the cylinder head. Paste must never get into the valve guide!
Place the tool on the valve disc and rotate until a matt shiny band forms on the sealing surface.
The width of the belt should be 2.0 mm at the intake valve, and at the exhaust valve - 2.4 mm.
Carefully clean the already finished, ground valve from any residue of grinding paste and reinsert it into its guide.
