Check toothed belt tension.
(13-597) turn the cardan shaft until the dead center marking matches the tide. At the same time, the valves of the 4th cylinder must be closed. In this position, the setting ruler 2065 A can be inserted into the spline of the camshaft.
Lock the camshaft with a setting ruler. The ruler has a protrusion that prevents the camshaft from turning. The ruler should enter the groove of the shaft.
If the ruler does not insert, turn the shaft so that the ruler enters. Balance the line like this:
- turn the locked shaft so that one end of the ruler rests on the cylinder head. At the other end of the ruler, measure the resulting gap with a template.
- insert a template with a value reduced by half between the ruler and the cylinder head. Turn the shaft so that the ruler lies on the template. Push the second template with the same value at the other end between the ruler and the cylinder head.
- remove the toothed belt cover.
- Loosen the camshaft wheel mounting bolts 1/2 turn. Using a rubber mallet, separate the wheel from the camshaft cone.
(02-186) turn the fuel pump gear so that the markings on the gear and the bracket coincide with each other, shown by a black arrow.
Lock the fuel pump gear with a mandrel. turn the cardan shaft until the mark on the flywheel coincides with the tide, see fig. 13-597.
Remove mandrel.
Tighten toothed belt, see "Removal and installation of a toothed belt".
Tighten the camshaft wheel mounting bolts to 45 Nm.
Remove setting line.
Check the start of delivery of the fuel pump, see "Check and installation of the beginning of giving of the fuel pump".
Install the cylinder head cover, see "cylinder head".
