Connect a test light to "plus" battery and alternately touch it to each candle.
If the light is on, the spark plug is good.
If the bulb does not glow, the spark plug is faulty and needs to be replaced (tightening torque 30 Nm).
The current consumption of one candle is about 12 A. With a total consumption of all candles, about:
- 36 A - one candle is faulty;
- 24 A - two candles are faulty;
- 12 A - three candles are faulty;
- 0 A - all candles are faulty.
These current values are only reached when the battery voltage is above 11.5 volts.
Candles with burnt filaments.
Burnt spark plug cores are often the result of injector malfunctions. Such damage is not caused by faults in the spark plugs or their circuits.
(28-251) If such candles are found, as shown in the figure, then it is not enough to simply replace them. You should also check the master injector.
