Poorly adjusted fuel injection timing also negatively affects the service life of glow plugs. When buying a glow plug, always specify the engine type, in this case "1Z", and the year of manufacture of the car. Malfunction of glow plugs can usually be noticed only on a cold engine. Fuel in cylinders with normally working glow plugs will ignite earlier than fuel in cylinders with faulty glow plugs. According to these signs, a malfunction of the glow plugs will be an intermittently running engine and blue exhaust smoke.
