Glow plugs — general information (VW Lt 28)

The described 6-cylinder engine has 2 types of glow plugs. In older models, glow plugs called "standard" have aluminum hooks (hexagonal), and the relay is recognized by the white inscription on the cover.

New models have "Fast" spark plugs (start in 7 sec.). New type glow plugs, brass nuts, relay with red inscription.

During repairs, it is possible to replace the old type glow plugs with new type plugs, provided that all the plugs are replaced together with the relay; mixing them is unacceptable.

Caution! The glow plug ends may become damaged. This fault is not always a defect in the glow plugs. If replacing them does not eliminate the defect, it is recommended to check the pressure adjustment and the injector tightness.
