Cold start thrust adjustment (VW Transporter T3)

All diesel-powered transport buses are equipped with a cold start system. The fuel feed advance mechanism is set by means of a control rod so that cold starting is facilitated. During repair work, the control rod is connected as follows (23-027):

• slide the washer 1 onto the rod. Secure the rod through the rubber bushing to the fuel pump counter support. At the same time, pass the tension cable through the bearing bolt 3.
• install lock washer 2.
• set the control lever to 0 position (in the direction of the arrow).
• pull the cable tightly and secure with clamping screws 3.
