Checking and adjusting the maximum number of revolutions (VW Transporter T3)

Since diesel engines do not have an ignition system, a special tachometer (VDO) is required. It can be connected to the W terminal of the generator.

Bring the engine up to operating temperature (oil temperature 50-70 degrees.).



(27-444) connect the tachometer.

The cold start accelerator rod should not be pulled out.

Turn off current consumers (radio, light).



(23-086) Loosen the lock nut on the set screw.

Start the engine and give it full throttle. Set the RPM using the adjusting screw to 4750-4850.

Lock the set screw.
