Attention! In order to make sure that fuel is supplied to the injectors in case of difficulty starting, loosen the cap nuts on two injectors and start the engine without preheating until fuel comes out of the injectors. Then tighten the nuts and start the engine in accordance with the instructions.
Maintenance
When refueling from canisters, it is recommended to filter the fuel through a clean cloth.
The fuel pump does not require maintenance; in the event of a malfunction, it must be completely replaced in the workshop.
Every 7,500 km, the fuel filter must be drained, and every 30,000 km, it must be replaced. At the same time, the idling speed of the engine is checked at the same time.
Riding in winter
Diesel fuel additives are not added, except perhaps only in winter. At low ambient temperatures, the fluidity of diesel fuel decreases due to the release of paraffin. Diesel fuel becomes thick as honey. In view of this, manufacturers add additives to the fuel in winter, which increase its fluidity and guarantee starting down to temperatures of about -15°C. But these additives do not always guarantee success, therefore, and also if there is summer diesel fuel in the tank, it is sometimes necessary to mix carburetor fuel with diesel fuel.
Mixing should be done, if possible, before the start of paraffin extraction, otherwise the filter and fuel lines will have to be cleaned of thickened diesel fuel.
Since mixing carburetor fuel (standard gasoline) reduces engine power, then you need to mix the really necessary amount of it (see table).
Due to the high flammability of carbureted fuel, mixing must be done directly into the tank for safety reasons. At the same time, if possible, pour standard gasoline first, and then diesel fuel.
If in winter the engine does not start due to thickened diesel fuel, dismantle the fuel filter and clean it. If possible, move the car to a warm garage and warm or pour hot water on the fuel filter. Then start the engine.
