Fault Table: Excessively Black Exhaust Gases
Test condition: oil temperature not less than 60 degrees C.
Visual inspection of exhaust gases
When parked, blow out the soot from the engine by giving it full throttle five times. Leave the engine at idle. Press the gas pedal all the way down as quickly as possible and hold it for at least 2 seconds. Repeat this process 3 times. Each time, leave the engine at idle for 10 seconds in between. Evaluate the smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe.
If thick black smoke is clearly visible, eliminate the cause using the following program:
