Safety instructions for the seat occupied recognition system
After each repair of the front passenger seat, during which "disconnected" seat and/or backrest upholstery, the basic setting of the seat occupied detection control unit -J706- must be carried out. Basic installation should be carried out using a tester that has a mode "Guided Troubleshooting".
WARNING: Do not disconnect seat cushion, seat occupied recognition mat, seat occupied recognition hose, seat occupied recognition pressure sender -G452- and seat occupied recognition control unit -J706-!
Do not bend the mat to determine if the seat is occupied. Leaky mat should be replaced (repair kit provided). Do not kink the seat occupied detection hose. Do not drop the components of the seat occupied detection system on hard surfaces. The components of the seat occupied detection system must not be exposed to grease. During work, components of the seat occupancy detection system can be damaged by sharp objects. Try to eliminate this threat. When installing, make sure that the mat and upholstery of the seat occupied recognition system are not wrinkled. Cushion and upholstery must be installed in the correct installation position. When replacing all clips and upholstery fastening clips, install them in the correct position. The basic installation of the system is possible only in the temperature range from 0 to +40°C. Putting any additional objects on the seat, such as pillows, will interfere with the seat occupancy detection system and thus the airbag system.
