Supplementary Safety Regulations for Working with Head Airbags
Damaged pillar trims cannot be repaired and must always be replaced. Do not bend or twist the head airbags. After carrying out body work in the area of the head airbags, check the body for the presence of metal splashes, deformations, places of possible friction (compare with the other side). When replacing a deployed head airbag, it is essential to replace the headlining, edged door seals, head airbag guides, handle brackets, and trims on the A, B, C and, if present, D-pillars. If damaged, also replace the taillights for readings, handles and ceiling end plate.
Crash without airbag deployment
If the airbag warning light (K75) does not indicate a malfunction, then the parts and assemblies of the airbag system cannot be replaced. Carry out a separate check of the seat belts.
