1. Starting in 1983, LT models began to be equipped with 4-speed (code 015/1) and 5-speed (code 008/1) gearboxes, which were a logical development of the gearboxes used previously.
2. The 4-speed gearbox 015/1 is used on LT 28, 31 and 35 models.
3. The 5-speed gearbox 008/1 is used on the LT 40, 45 and 50 models and can be installed as an option on the LT 28, 31 and 35 models.
4. The main difference between the new boxes and their predecessors is that they use tapered roller bearings instead of cage roller bearings.
5. When removing and installing the gearbox, you may encounter slight differences in the location where the gearbox is attached to the clutch housing, as different models use different gearbox and clutch housings.
6. This is especially evident on the LT 40, 45 and 50 models built after 1983, which have a steeper engine angle than the 28 models,
31 and 35. The flange for fastening the clutch housing to the gearbox has been modified accordingly.
7. New models use a different gear shift mechanism (see below).
