General information about engine tuning (VW Golf 1)

Difficulty starting, insufficient engine power and increased fuel consumption are usually associated with general wear or improper adjustment of the engine mechanisms and systems, so the relevant components should be periodically checked and adjusted (see "Maintenance Schedule").

Since the need for engine adjustment may arise at any time, regardless of maintenance, the description of adjustment work is allocated to a separate chapter. The sequence of description corresponds to the logical sequence of actions when performing a complete engine adjustment.
