Gearbox — removal and installation (models with 2.4l engine) (VW Lt 28)

21. Note: On models with a 6-cylinder engine and 015/1 gearbox, the gearbox must be removed before removing the engine. The procedure for removing/installing the box is similar to that indicated in chapter 6 for early type boxes. Please consider the following points.

22. Before removing the gearbox, mark the position of the propeller shaft relative to the drive flange of the rear axle (see photo).



23. Disconnect the ground wire and the reverse light switch wires.



24. The gearbox is installed in reverse order.

25. Don't forget to install the plastic oil shield on the gearbox before connecting the propeller shaft (see photo).





26. Before connecting the speedometer cable, check that the plastic speedometer gear is in place.
