Pic. 1.33. Steering column wiper and washer switch
Attention: Windshield wipers and windshield washers only work when the ignition is on.
Attention: In case of frost, before switching on the windshield wipers for the first time after a trip, check if the brushes are frozen.

Intermittent brush movement
Steering column switch in fixed position 1.
Switch A can be used to set four different brush intervals.
Switch to the right - shortened pauses between actuations
Switch to the left - extended pauses between actuations
Additionally, the duration of the pauses in each position is adjusted depending on the vehicle speed.
Slow brush movement

Fast brush movement

Automatic cleaning and washing
Move the steering column switch to the steering wheel 5 - the windshield wipers and washers work.
Release the stalk - the washer stops, the wipers continue to operate for approximately four seconds.
In the presence of heated windshield washer jets, automatic switching on and regulation of the intensity of heating occurs from the moment the ignition is turned on, depending on the ambient temperature.
Rain sensor
On vehicles with a rain sensor, when the intermittent brush movement is on, the duration of the pause is automatically adjusted depending on the strength of the rain flow.
The sensitivity of the rain sensor can be adjusted individually using the knob A in the wiper arm.
After switching off the ignition, the rain sensor must be reactivated. To do this, turn off the intermittent wipers and turn it on again.
Windshield washer
When the high beam or low beam is on, each time the windshield washer is switched on, the surfaces of the headlight lenses are also washed.
At regular intervals, for example, when refueling the car, the surface of the headlight lenses should be cleaned from dried dirt (for example, from insects adhering to the glass).
Wiper blades
Pic. 1.34. Replacing wiper blades
Attention: The perfect condition of the wiper blades is absolutely essential for good visibility.
Attention: To avoid cloudy streaks on the glass when the brushes are moving, it is necessary to regularly clean the wiper blades with glass cleaner. If the brushes are heavily soiled, for example by insect residues, the brushes should be cleaned with a sponge or a clean cloth.
Caution: For safety reasons, wiper blades should be replaced once or twice a year.
Attention: If the brushes do not clean the windshield well enough, then the following reasons for this are possible:
Attention: – wax particles got on the windshield when the car passed through an automatic car wash. These particles can be removed with a special cleaning agent.
Caution: Adding a glass cleaner with wax-dissolving properties to the glass cleaner can remove wax particles. Means with fat-dissolving properties are unsuitable for this.
Attention: – damage to the brushes can also cause poor cleaning of the windows. Brushes should be replaced;
Attention: – the installation angle of the wiper arms does not correspond to the required one.
Removing the brush
Move the wiper arm away from the glass and rotate the blade to a position at right angles to the wiper arm.
Push the spring in the direction of arrow A.
Unlock the brush by pressing it in the direction of arrow B and then remove it from the driver in the opposite direction.
Attaching the brush
The retaining spring should engage with a characteristic sound in the wiper arm.
When installing brushes, pay attention to:
- the driver's side brush spoiler was at the bottom;
- the right brush was turned arch down.
