Pic. 1.38. Rear-view mirror control scheme
Rear-view mirrors must be installed before starting a trip in such a way that at any time you can see the traffic situation behind the car.
Installation of exterior mirrors
Installation of exterior mirrors with electric drive.
Installation of external mirrors is carried out by means of the rotary button.
L - left mirror.
A - heated exterior mirrors.
R is the right mirror.
If the electric drive fails, you can install the exterior mirrors manually by pressing on the mirror rim.
B - both mirrors are folded.
In this button position, both exterior mirrors are folded in. When the button is turned to any other position, both mirrors return to their working position.
Attention: If the position of the exterior mirror housing has changed due to force (for example, when touching another vehicle while maneuvering) fold both mirrors (bring to the body) using an electric drive. In no case should you restore the position of the mirror by hand, as this will adversely affect the operation of the mirror installation mechanism.
Synchronous installation of exterior mirrors
First, set both mirrors to their original position. To do this, install the mirrors separately, as described above.
After that, you can install both mirrors at the same time when installing the left mirror.
Application instructions for convex and aspherical exterior mirrors
Pic. 1.39. Aspherical rear view mirror
Convex rear-view mirrors increase the field of view, while objects are presented in a reduced form. For this reason, these mirrors are only very conditionally suitable for estimating the distance to vehicles moving behind (pic. 1.39).
Pic. 1.40. Interior rear view mirror
Aspherical mirrors have a mirror surface of different curvature. These wide angle mirrors increase the field of view even more than convex mirrors. They are also only very limitedly useful for estimating the distance to vehicles following.
Folding outside mirrors
The car's exterior mirrors can be folded down. To do this, press the mirror housing to the car body.
Before passing through an automatic car wash, the exterior mirrors must be pressed against the body to prevent damage to them.
Heated mirrors
The exterior mirrors are heated independently of the rear window heating. The heating is turned on by turning the mirror adjustment button to position A.
Memory for exterior mirrors
Vehicles with memory for the driver's seat also have memory for the exterior mirrors.
Any set position of the exterior mirrors is automatically stored in the memory when memorizing the driver's seat adjustments.
The driver's seat must be adjusted first. Then install the mirrors in accordance with the installation of the driver's seat.
Automatic setting of the right exterior mirror when reversing
When reverse gear is engaged, the right exterior mirror automatically assumes a pre-set position, if such a position has been previously set.
This ensures that the right curbstone is visible when parking. The mirror returns to its normal position as soon as the reverse gear is disengaged.
The previously set position of the right exterior mirror for reversing can be changed and memorized in accordance with your individual requirements.
Interior mirror installation
Manual anti-dazzle setting.
In the main position of the mirror, the lever on the bottom of the mirror should point forward.
To achieve an anti-glare effect, move the lever back.
Automatic creation of anti-dazzle effect
The mirror is installed manually.
When the ignition is on, the interior mirror darkens when the light flux falls from behind (e.g. headlights); the intensity of darkening depends on the amount of light flux from behind.
When reverse gear is engaged or the automatic transmission selector is moved to the position «R» the mirror switches to its original position (no antiglare effect).
Sun visors
The sun visors can be pulled out of the side holders and rotated towards the doors.
The cosmetic mirror is supplied with a cover. When the lid is lifted, the light in the ceiling turns on.
By means of a small sun visor under the front cover, you can tilt this visor downwards to cover the gap above the interior mirror.
