Fig. 1.38. Rear view mirror control diagram
Rear view mirrors should be installed before starting a trip so that the traffic situation behind the car can be seen at any time.
Installation of exterior mirrors
Installation of electrically adjustable exterior mirrors.
The outside mirrors are adjusted using a rotary knob.
L – left mirror.
A – heated exterior mirrors.
R – right mirror.
If the electric drive fails, you can set the outside mirrors manually by pressing on the mirror rim.
B – both mirrors are folded.
In this position of the button, both outside mirrors are folded. When the button is turned to any other position, both mirrors again take up the working position.
Caution: If the position of the outside mirror housing has changed due to force (for example, when touching another car while maneuvering) both mirrors should be folded (bring to the body) using an electric drive. In no case should you restore the mirror position by hand, as this will negatively affect the operation of the mirror installation mechanism.
Synchronous installation of exterior mirrors
First, you need to set both mirrors to their original position. To do this, set the mirrors separately as described above.
After this, you can install both mirrors at the same time when installing the left mirror.
Instructions for the use of convex and aspherical exterior rear-view mirrors
Fig. 1.39. Aspherical rearview mirror
Convex rear-view mirrors increase the field of view, while objects appear smaller. For this reason, these mirrors are only very conditionally suitable for assessing the distance to cars moving behind (Fig. 1.39).
Fig. 1.40. Interior rearview mirror
Aspherical mirrors have a mirror surface of varying curvature. These wide-angle mirrors increase the field of view even more than convex mirrors. They are also only very limitedly suitable for assessing the distance to following vehicles.
Folding the outside mirrors
The exterior mirrors of the car can be folded. To do this, press the mirror housing against the car body.
Before going through an automatic car wash, the exterior mirrors must be pressed against the body to avoid damage.
Heated mirrors
The heating of the outside mirrors is independent of the heating of the rear window. Heating is switched on by turning the mirror setting button to position A.
Memory for exterior mirrors
Vehicles with memory for the driver's seat also have memory for the outside mirrors.
Any position set for the outside mirrors is automatically entered into the memory when the driver's seat adjustments are memorized.
First, you should adjust the position of the driver's seat. Then set the mirrors in accordance with the installation of the driver's seat.
Automatic setting of the right outside mirror when reversing
When reverse gear is engaged, the right outside mirror automatically takes the preset position, if such a position has been previously set.
This ensures that the right curb is visible when parking. The mirror returns to its normal position as soon as the reverse gear is disengaged.
The previously set position of the right outside mirror for reversing can be changed and stored in the memory according to your individual requirements.
Installing an interior mirror
Manual setting of anti-glare position.
In the main position of the mirror, the lever at the bottom of the mirror should point forward.
To ensure the anti-glare effect, move the lever back.
Automatic creation of anti-glare effect
The mirror is installed manually.
When the ignition is on, the interior mirror darkens when light falls from behind (for example, headlights); the intensity of darkening depends on the amount of light coming from behind.
When you engage reverse gear or move the automatic transmission selector to the "R" position, the mirror switches to its original position (without anti-glare effect).
Sun visors
The sun visors can be pulled out of the side holders and swung towards the doors.
The cosmetic mirror is equipped with a cover. When the cover is lifted, the light in the ceiling turns on.
By means of a small sun visor under the front lamp, you can, by folding this visor down, cover the gap above the interior mirror.
