Vehicles with ABS do not have a mechanical brake force regulator. Special software in the control unit monitors the distribution of the brake force for the rear axle.
ABS malfunctions do not affect the brake system and its reinforcement. The brake system performs its functions even if the ABS fails. In the event of a malfunction of the ABS, a change in braking force must be taken into account. After the ABS warning lamp comes on, the rear wheels may lock up prematurely when braking.

Location of ABS in vehicles with left-hand drive (pic. 6.59).
The control unit and the hydraulic unit form one unit. Individually, these components cannot function. The hydraulic pump also cannot function separately from the hydraulic unit.
