The brake system with ABS is dual-circuit and diagonal. The brake system is reinforced by a vacuum booster.

ABS malfunctions affect the braking system and its amplification. In the event of an ABS malfunction, a change in braking force must be taken into account. After the ABS warning light comes on, the rear wheels may lock prematurely when braking.

Vehicles with ABS Mark 25 are not equipped with a mechanical brake force regulator. Special software in the control unit monitors the distribution of braking force for the rear axle.

Control unit 1 and hydraulic unit 2 form a single unit (Fig. 6.61).

Separation is only possible in the removed state. Hydraulic pump 3 must not be disconnected from the hydraulic unit.

New control units as spare parts do not have coding. They must be coded after installation.
