Pic. 6.57. Brake pedal (for automatic transmission):
1 - support bracket of the pedal assembly; 2 - hex nut, self-locking, 20 Nm; 3 - finger; 4 - brake pedal; 5 - bearing shell; 6 - support mount; 7 - support; 8 - hex bolt, 8 Nm; 9 - hinged support; 10 - bolt; 11 - lock washer; 12 - bracket; 13 - hex bolt, 8 Nm; 14 - brake light switch and brake pedal sensor.
ATTENTION: Additional floor mats must not interfere with the brake pedal travel.
Install tool T10189 on the brake pedal push rod mount and support bracket (pic. 6.58).
First press the brake pedal slightly towards the brake booster and hold it in this position.
Then press tool T10189 in the direction of the brake booster while holding the brake pedal (the pedal should not move back at this moment). Thus, the locking tabs 3 of the fastening are pressed by the ball head of the push rod 2 (pic. 6.58).
Push tool T10189 further towards the brake booster and at the same time pull the brake pedal towards the driver's seat. (This moves the brake pedal away from the push rod ball head).
