  • A = 244 mm

If the exhaust pipes are difficult to disconnect, use one of the following methods:

  • cut the exhaust pipe 5 cm behind the mounting bracket. Saw the remaining section of pipe along the axis and knock it down using a hammer and chisel;
  • using an oxyacetylene welder, heat the pipe joint and separate the pipes.

Raise the vehicle and secure it on stands.

The point of disconnection of the exhaust pipes is located at a distance of 140–150 mm from the central muffler, see Fig. The point of disconnection of the exhaust pipes on front-wheel drive vehicles with four- and five-cylinder engines except for 150 hp engines.

Front-wheel drive cars with 150 hp engines.

The place where the exhaust pipes are disconnected is at a distance of 160–170 mm to the additional muffler on models with five-cylinder engines, and about 160–180 mm on 1.8-I turbocharged engines, see Fig. The place where the exhaust pipes are disconnected on front-wheel drive vehicles with a 150 hp engine.

All-wheel drive vehicles and vehicles with a 6V engine

The point where the exhaust pipes are disconnected is 244 mm from the central muffler, see Fig. Point where the exhaust pipes are disconnected on all-wheel drive vehicles and vehicles with a 6V engine.

Cut the exhaust pipe at the indicated location.

Release the muffler from the rubber mounts and remove it from under the vehicle.

Installation

1. Install the muffler in rubber mounts.

2. New clamps must be used to connect the exhaust pipes.

3. Check the position of the muffler and, if necessary, turn it so that the distance between the muffler and the bottom of the car is at least 25 mm.

4. Tighten the clamp bracket mounting nuts to 40 Nm.
