Warning: Do not open the refrigerant circuit of the air conditioning system. Avoid contact of the refrigerant with the skin.


Warning: The air conditioning compressor and bracket can be removed and installed without opening the refrigerant circuit. When performing repair work, the air conditioning compressor can be removed and hung in the engine compartment without disconnecting the hoses from it.


Engines 1.6-I/1.8-I/1.9-I

Air conditioning compressor for cars with 1.6-I/1.8-I/1.9-I engines

  • 1 - bolt M8x100, 25 Nm,
  • 2 - washer,
  • 3 - refrigerant hose support,
  • 4 - bolt M8x35, 25 Nm,
  • 5 - bolt M8x50, 25 Nm,
  • 6 - air conditioning compressor bracket,
  • 7 - poly V-belt tensioning mechanism,
  • 8 - bolt 20, Nm,
  • 9 - air conditioning compressor

Removal



1. Remove the poly V-belt.

2. Unscrew the bolts securing the air conditioning compressor to the bracket.

3. Remove the air conditioning compressor from the bracket and, using soft wire, hang it in the engine compartment without disconnecting the hoses from it.

4. If necessary, loosen the bolts and remove the air conditioning compressor bracket from the engine block.



Installation



Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When installing the bolts, keep in mind that they have different lengths.

  • 1 - bolts M8x50, 40 Nm,
  • 2 - air conditioning compressor bracket,
  • 3 - guide roller,
  • 4 - electromagnetic clutch of the air conditioner drive,
  • 5 - bolt M8x90, 25 Nm,
  • 6 - bolt M10x95, 40 Nm,
  • 7 - air conditioning compressor

Removal



1. Set the front cross member of the body to the service position (see the corresponding description in the chapter Body).

2. Remove the poly V-belt.

3. Remove the three air conditioner mounting bolts.

4. Remove the air conditioning compressor from the bracket and, using soft wire, tie it up in the engine compartment without disconnecting the hoses from it.

5. If necessary, loosen the bolts and remove the air conditioning compressor bracket from the engine block.

Installation



Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Keep in mind that the air conditioner compressor mounting bolts are of different lengths.
