Remove the distributor cap.
Connect an ohmmeter to the distributor runner. The prescribed resistance value is from 0.6 to 1.4 kOhm, marking R1.
If the measured resistance value does not correspond to the specified value, replace the distributor rotor.
Only for VEZ systems. KE-Motronic, Motronic (AAA)
The distributor rotor is firmly glued to the shaft. To replace the rotor, the old rotor must be destroyed, for example, by crushing it with pliers. Do not break the rotor, as this may damage the distributor shaft/bearing.
Remove any residue from the shaft and glue the new runner using VAG AMV 1B510001 glue.
Note: On some vehicle models, the runner is secured to the shaft with a lock nut. In this case, unscrew the nut and replace the runner with a new one. Do not use the removed runner again.
