Correct adjustment of headlights is of great importance for road safety. Precise adjustment of headlights is only possible with a special adjustment device. Therefore, this chapter only tells where the adjustment points are located and what conditions must be met during adjustment.

Tires must have the prescribed pressure.

An unloaded vehicle must be loaded with a mass of 75 kg (mass of one person), located on the driver's seat.

The fuel tank must be at least 90% full.

Place the car on a level surface.

Press the front of the car down several times so that the spring suspension of the front wheels settles. Then roll the car for several meters.

Set the headlight angle adjustment button to "0".

Diffusers must be free from damage and contamination. Reflectors must be in perfect condition.

The headlights can only be adjusted with low beam. The optical axis inclination for the main headlights is X = 12 cm at a distance of 10 m, and for the fog lights at the same distance - X = 20 cm. For vehicles with adjustable ground clearance, X = 10 cm at a distance of 10 m.

Note: On vehicles with headlamp levelling, there is a sticker next to the headlamp at the locking beam indicating the inclination value in %. The headlamps must be adjusted according to this indication. The percentage value on the sticker refers to a projection distance of 10 m. For example, with an inclination value of 1.2%, the X value is 12 cm.

The headlights can be adjusted using either the knurled wheels or a large Phillips-head screwdriver.
