Ignition distributor
Bosch brand ignition distributor, shielded, five-spark, with vacuum and centrifugal ignition timing controllers, with high-voltage current distributor with axial leads, with built-in microelectronic sensor (generator) control pulses with a change in the phase angle of the resulting voltage. It is driven by a helical gear of the intermediate shaft. Direction of rotation left (camshaft drive side). The voltage generated by the generator sensor is in the range of 0-2 V. The resistance of the rotor-distributor (marking «R1»), Ohm: 1000.
Numbers of sensors-distributors of ignition according to the Bosch catalog:
- engine WN: 0 237 025 026;
- JS engine: 0 237 030 012.
Ignition timing to TDC with vacuum ignition timing regulator hose connected at idle:
- motor WN: 0°±1°;
- JS motor: 18°±1°.
Characteristics of the automatic ignition advance regulator o in the ignition distributor of the WN and JS engines:
A - characteristic of the centrifugal regulator;
B - characteristic of the vacuum regulator with ignition advance;
B' - characteristic of the vacuum regulator with a delay in ignition.
When checking the distribution sensor on the stand, reduce the values indicated on the graph by half. When checking the distributor sensor on a car, add the initial ignition timing.
Switch
The switch converts the control pulses of the generator sensor into current pulses in the primary winding of the ignition coil. It is installed in the passenger compartment, under the left lower trim next to the engine hood lock drive handle and has a seven-plug connector (plug Ns 7 spare). 1.5 s after the stop of the ignition distribution sensor roller, a special switch circuit smoothly breaks the ignition coil power supply circuit, preventing sparking. This prevents excessive heating of the ignition coil with a low primary resistance value. Brand and catalog N°of the switch: Bosch 0 227 100 104.
