Fuel pump for WN engine (VW Passat B2)

The fuel pump is secured with two nuts through a heat-insulating spacer and a sealing ring. The pump body and cover are non-separable, i.e. the fuel pump design is non-disassemblable and cannot be repaired.

Checking the fuel supply pressure of the fuel pump

Connect the test pressure gauge hoses to the fuel pump and to the carburetor.

Start the engine and measure the fuel supply pressure using the pressure gauge: it should be within 0.20-0.25 kg/cm².

The pressure at the fuel pump outlet is not regulated. If the pressure drops below the permissible value, replace the fuel pump.
