Coolant is 60% water and 40% low temperature G12 concentrate (low-temperature composition based on ethylene glycol with anti-corrosion additives). This mixture not only ensures the efficiency of the engine cooling system down to a temperature of -25°C, but also protects parts from corrosion, especially parts made of light alloys. In addition, this mixture prevents the formation of scale and significantly increases the boiling point of the coolant.
Therefore, the content of low-temperature concentrate, also in the warm season and in countries with a warm climate, should not be reduced by using water for topping up. The share of low-temperature concentrate must be at least 40%.
If a higher frost resistance of the coolant is required in a harsh climate, the proportion of G12 concentrate can be increased, but only up to 60% (the freezing temperature of the coolant in this case will be about -40°C), since with a larger proportion of low-temperature concentrate, the freezing point of the coolant will begin to rise, and, in addition, the heat capacity and thermal conductivity of the coolant will deteriorate.
Only use our G12 formulation or concentrate with specification TL-VW 774 D as a low temperature concentrate (pay attention to the inscription on the container).
Other concentrates may be primarily aggressive towards anti-corrosion coatings.
The corrosion of metal parts caused by these concentrates can lead to coolant leakage, which in turn can cause serious engine damage.
Only our G12 formulation should be used as a low temperature concentrate.
When adding coolant, please note the following: Under no circumstances should G12 be mixed with other low temperature concentrates (also with the composition of G11).
You can tell the composition of G12 by the red color of the coolant in the expansion tank. If the coolant in the expansion tank is brown, then G12 is mixed with another low temperature concentrate! In this case, the coolant must be replaced without fail!
Otherwise, serious engine malfunctions may occur!
