Replacing the oil filter on diesel engines (VW Golf 4)

• 1 - lid;
• 2 - sealing ring;
• 3 - sealing ring;
• 4 - filter element

Execution order

1. Using a ferrule wrench or VW-3417 spanner, unscrew the oil filter cover.

2. Remove the oil filter element and replace the sealing rings.

3. Install the filter element and screw on the cover, tightening it to a torque of 25 Nm.

4. After changing the oil on turbodiesel engines, crank the engine with the starter until the oil pressure warning light goes out. Otherwise, the turbocharger may be damaged due to lack of lubrication.
