Drain the cooling system.
Loosen the nuts securing the generator and its bracket.
Move the generator so that the V-belt can be removed.
Release the upper part of the timing belt. Unscrew the housing mounting bolts, which also hold the coolant pump.
Rotate the pump housing to relieve tension on the timing belt and carefully remove the belt from the three timing pulleys.
Remove the pump.
Remove the O-ring from the pump flange and replace it with a new one before installation.
The pump is installed in the reverse order. Lay the toothed belt and adjust its tension in the manner shown, described here. Put on the V-belt and fill the system with coolant.
Coolant pump repair
The pump cannot be repaired. A faulty pump must be replaced. After removing the pump, check for signs of leakage (most often in the form of rusty spots), and the condition of the bearing (turning and rocking the pump shaft).
