Drain the liquid from the cooling system.
Loosen the nuts securing the generator and its bracket.
Move the alternator so that the V-belt can be removed.
Release the upper part of the toothed belt. Loosen the cover bolts that hold the coolant pump at the same time.
Rotate the pump housing to loosen the toothed belt and carefully remove the belt from the three toothed pulleys.
Remove the pump.
Remove the O-ring from the pump flange, replace it with a new one before installation.
The pump is installed in the reverse order. Lay the toothed belt and adjust its tension in the way described here. Put on the V-belt and fill the system with coolant.
Coolant Pump Repair
The pump is beyond repair. A defective pump must be replaced. After removing the pump, check for signs of leakage (most often in the form of rusty spots), and bearing condition (turning and shaking the pump shaft).
