The Bosch generator has had a so-called hybrid regulator since August 1980. It has a more compact design and longer carbon brushes. This regulator is only suitable for the newest Bosch generators.
On the back of the generator: 1 - clamp for multi-pin plug, 2 - voltage regulator, 3 - contact tabs, 4 - multi-pin plug, in the photo it is shown removed from the contact tabs
Checking the voltage regulator
Connect the voltmeter clamps between the B+ terminal of the generator and ground.

Let the engine run at 2000 rpm.
The regulating voltage should be 13.3-14.6 V.
If a higher charging voltage is detected during measurement, the regulator is defective and should be replaced.
Too low voltage may occur due to worn contact brushes.
