Firm Generator "Bosch" since August 1980 has a so-called hybrid regulator. It has a more compact design and longer carbon brushes. This regulator is suitable only for the latest generators "Bosch".
On the back of the generator: 1 - clamp for a multi-pin plug, 2 - voltage regulator, 3 - contact tabs, 4 - multi-pin plug, in the photo it is shown removed from the contact tabs
Checking the voltage regulator
Connect the voltmeter clamps between the B+ terminal of the generator and "weight".
Let the engine run at 2000 rpm.
The control voltage should be 13.3-14.6 V.
If the measurement reveals a higher charging voltage, then the regulator is defective and should be replaced.
Too low voltage may appear due to the fact that the contact brushes are worn out.
