The contaminated battery case should be cleaned with a cold cleaning agent, water and a brush.
Wash off oxide crystals on the battery terminals with warm soda water or treat with "Neutralon" from Varta.
Check if the ventilation holes in the plugs are open. Clean them if necessary.
Lubricate the battery terminals and wire clamps with Bosch acid-protective grease "Ft40v1".
The lubricant must not come into contact with the contact surfaces.
