Removing the radio (old design)
Remove buttons. Remove switch or spacer.
Use a small screwdriver or a needle to move the small clips of the radio shutter to the sides (under the buttons). Take out the shutter.
On one side of the radio, use a screwdriver to slightly move the fixing bracket inward (illustration); pull out the radio a bit.
Removing the radio: 1 - buttons: 2 - switch; 3 - spacer ring; 4 - damper; 5 - metal clips; 6 - fixing clips; 7 - antenna adjusting screw; 8 - handles.
On the opposite side, slide the fixing bracket inward; remove the radio. Make sure that the second bracket does not engage again.
Remove all radio cables without exception.
When installing the radio panel cover, pay attention to the note "Oben" ("Up"), stamped on the back of the damper.
Removing the radio (new design)
For professional dismantling, the workshop has two U-shaped wire elbows. Auxiliary tools can also be 4 suitable nails or auxiliary tools from another radio manufacturer.
Insert both squares or four nails into the side holes of the radio, so that the fixing clips of the radio will be pressed inward.
Take out the radio; Remove cable plug and antenna plug.
Self-installation of the radio
Buy suitable parts for mounting the radio so that there are no mounting problems.
Take out the box for things located in the instrument panel by grasping it in the middle, top and bottom.
If necessary, secure the mounting parts for the radio.
Paste the radio receiver case with foam plastic strips; so that any noise can be prevented.
Take off "mass" from the battery.
In most cases, with improved equipment, there are wires for connecting a radio receiver.
If there are no wires. in the central part of the electrical equipment, connect at one of the connections "H" (in release model before July 1982) or "R" (release after August 1982) to DC line (terminal 30); turn on the radio fuse in between.
Lay to the radio "mass" the wire.
Since September 1981, radio wires have been assembled in one four-pin connector.
Cable colors mean the following; red - plus, brown - minus: gray-blue - illumination of the radio scale, black for the antenna.
Connect the radio.
Install the antenna as described in section "Antenna Installation".
Install an interference suppression system.
Temporarily connect a loudspeaker to the radio.
Join "mass" to the battery. Turn on the radio to check its operation.
If necessary, adjust the radio receiver with the antenna using the adjusting screw.
To do this, on medium waves, find a weak radio transmitter between 1200 and 1500 kHz.
Turn the adjusting screw until until the station is heard loud and clear enough.
