The idle switch (1) and the full load switch (2) of the shift indicator are actuated via a lever (manual control drive of high pressure fuel pump).
At too high a speed and low engine load, the control unit closes the current circuit to the LED. The LED flashes, indicating to the driver the possibility of shifting to a higher gear. The shift indicator is in the neutral position when the accelerator pedal is released (when moving downhill) and at maximum speed. This is ensured by the corresponding sensors at the high-pressure fuel pump and gearbox.
