1. Exhaust system control indicator, While driving, it can signal a malfunction in the exhaust system, as well as a malfunction of the sensors associated with this system. The following message appears on the multifunction display:
- «ABGAS WERKSTATT!» (Exhaust system malfunction, contact a service station).
2. EPC control indicator (Electronic power control). When driving, reports a malfunction of the engine (only used in vehicles with petrol engines). The following message appears on the multifunction display:
- «MOTORST0RG. WERKSTATT!.. (Engine failure, contact the service station).
3. Control indicator of the pre-glow system. After starting the engine, it indicates a malfunction of the heating system, while the following message is displayed on the multifunction display: «MOTORST6RG. WERKSTATT!» (Engine failure, contact the service station).
Attention: after switching on the ignition, before starting the engine, in order not to damage the pre-glow system, it is advisable to wait for the indicator to turn off.
4. Control indicator of the engine blocking system. After switching on the ignition, it lights up for 3 seconds. If a non-original copy of the key is inserted into the ignition lock, the indicator lights up and the engine is blocked, the display shows the message «WEGFARHRSPERRE AKTIV!» (Engine lock activated).
5. Control indicator of battery charging.
6. Fault indicator for outdoor lighting devices, a message is displayed on the display containing information about the faulty device, for example: «FERNLICHT LINKS (RECHT) DEFEKT» (Faulty left (right) high beam headlight).
7. Indicators of operation of turn signals or emergency light signaling.
8. Low engine oil pressure warning light. The display shows the message: «STOP OLDRUCK MOTOR AUS! BETRIEBSAN-LEITUNG» (Stop, low engine oil pressure, stop the engine).
Attention: if this indicator is activated while driving, you must immediately stop driving and turn off the engine until the malfunction is eliminated.
9. The indicator informs about the low level of coolant or overheating of the motor, while the message appears on the display: «STOP! KOHLMITTEL PRUFEN! WETRIEBSANLEITUNG» (Stop! Check coolant and cooling system).
Attention: if this indicator is activated while driving, you must immediately stop driving and turn off the engine until the malfunction is eliminated.
10. When the ignition is on, it informs about the presence of an open door.
11. The indicator informs about the small thickness of the brake pads, the display shows the message: «BREMSBELAG PRt'FEN» (Check brake pads).
12. When the ignition is on, it informs about the hood not being closed.
13. The control lamp of the water level in the washer reservoir, the message is displayed on the display:
- «WASCHWASSER AUFFCLLEN» (Add fluid to the windshield washer).
14. The low engine oil indicator comes on accompanied by an audible signal. In the event of a fault in the oil level sensor, it lights up for 5 seconds after switching on the ignition and is accompanied by a message on the display: «LSENSOR WERKSTATT» (Contact a service station to check the engine oil level sensor).
15. Informs that there is only a reserve of fuel left in the fuel tank, the message is displayed on the display: «VPTE TANKEN» (Please refuel).
16. Seat belt indicator.
17. After turning on the ignition, it lights up for a while until the end of the ABS system check (Anti-Lock Braking System) and EDS (Electronic differential lock). If the indicator does not light up when the ignition is turned on or does not go out after checking the systems, or lights up while driving, this indicates a malfunction. If the ABS is faulty, the ESP indicator will also be on (Vehicle stabilization system) (18), If there is a malfunction of the ABS or other components of the brake system, it lights up together with the indicator (19) (see ch. 7).
18.ESP indicator (Vehicle stabilization system). The blinking of the indicator indicates the operation of the system. The indicator turned on while driving indicates a malfunction. Also, the indicator may light up for a while after starting the engine if the battery has been discharged.
19. The indicator lights up when the parking brake lever is applied, the brake fluid level is low, and if there is a malfunction in the brake system. The following messages may appear on the display:
- «HANDBREMSE ANGEZOGEN» (Parking brake lever tightened), accompanied by a sound signal;
- «STOP! BREMSFLUSSIGKEIT BE-TRIEBSANLEITUNG» (Stop! Low brake fluid);
Attention: if this indicator is activated while driving, you must immediately stop driving and turn off the engine. The engine must not be started until the problem is corrected.
20. The indicator informs about the switched on tempomat.
21. The control indicator lights up for a few seconds after the ignition is turned on. If the indicator does not go out after starting the engine or lights up while driving, this indicates a partial loss of amplifier power (indicator glows yellow) or completely disable it (indicator lights up red and 3 warning beeps sound), which is a sign of an emergency violation of vehicle controllability! Partial loss of amplifier power can be caused by a low battery level, in which case the indicator will glow yellow and should turn off after a short trip. If the indicator glows red or yellow does not go out for a long time (this could mean that the battery is not charging), you need to stop the trip and call technical assistance.
22. The indicator reports that the high beam headlights are on.
23. The indicator lights up when the rear fog lights are on.
24. When the ignition is switched on, the indicator of passive safety systems should glow for about 4 seconds, and the following message appears on the display in the instrument cluster:
- «AIRBAG / GLRTSTRAFFER» (Airbag/Pretensioner).
If the indicator does not light up, does not go out, or lights up while driving, contact a service station.
25. The indicator reminds you to press the brake pedal when moving the automatic transmission lever from the P or N positions and vice versa.
Time setting
The time is shown in the instrument cluster display. To set the hour, turn the time setting knob (2) (see fig. 2) to the left stop, to set the minutes turn the knob all the way to the right.
Coolant temperature gauge
After starting the engine, it is desirable to warm it up until the arrow moves out of the cold zone (A) to the zone (IN), which is the normal operating temperature range.
Attention: if the arrow has moved to the overheating zone (WITH), the overheat indicator light comes on, or the following message appears on the multifunction display: «STOP! Kublmittel prufen. Befriebsaulertung!» - Stop the vehicle immediately and turn off the engine.
Visitor comments
