Headlights - Golf, Jetta, Scirocco models
1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery. Disconnect the wire connector and remove the headlight and parking light bulbs as described above.
2. Remove the radiator grille (see chapter "Body and body equipment").
3. Loosen the screws securing the headlight holder and remove the holder together with the headlight.
4. Do not separate the headlight from the holder unless necessary, as this will disrupt the adjustment of the headlight beam direction. The headlight is attached to the holder with a rotary lock - to remove the headlight, turn the lock and separate the headlight.
On Scirocco models, after removing the bracket mounting screws, turn the plastic clips on the back of the headlight inside the engine compartment and pull the headlight forward.
5. Install the headlight in the reverse order of removal. Check and adjust the direction of the headlight (see "Car maintenance work").
Front direction indicator lights - Golf models
Remove the front turn signal lamp lens as described previously (see "Replacing the lamp"). Press the light out of the bumper, disconnect the wiring harness and remove the light from the car. The light is installed in the reverse order.
Scirocco/Jetta models
Remove the lamp as described above. Unscrew the three mounting screws on the back of the lamp and remove the lamp from the car.
Rear Light Assembly - Removal
Open the tailgate or trunk lid and disconnect the connector from the back of the light assembly. Loosen the screws securing the light assembly (inside the luggage compartment) and remove the lantern.
