Steering column switch block - replacement (figure P:13)

1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

2. Remove the horn button by pulling it up and disconnecting the wires.

3. Loosen the steering wheel mounting nut, mark the position of the steering wheel to facilitate its subsequent installation and slide the wheel up from the splines, then unscrew the nut completely and remove the steering wheel.

4. Remove the screws holding the steering column covers and remove the lower cover.

5. Disconnect the three connectors from the steering column (they are installed in only one way)

6. Remove the screw (with Allen head) clamping the switch housing.

7. Remove the switch assembly from the steering column.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not tighten the switch clamp until the steering wheel is installed. Adjust the gap (2-4 mm) between the lower edge of the steering wheel hub and the switch block, then tighten the clamp

All switches installed in the instrument cluster frame and on the instrument panel are removed in the same way, according to the procedure described below.

1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

2. Carefully pry the switch out of the panel using a small screwdriver, prying the bottom edge of the switch. If necessary, squeeze the tabs on the back of the instrument panel (figure P:14) and remove the switch.

To remove the pushbutton switch located on the door post, unscrew the screw and pull the switch with the wire out of the post. Make sure that the disconnected wire does not fall back into the post - it will be very difficult to remove. The switch is installed in the reverse order.

Cigarette lighter - replacement

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery. Remove the lower instrument panel trim (see chapter "Body and body equipment"). Disconnect the wire connector from the cigarette lighter behind the dashboard. From the back of the cigarette lighter, unscrew the outer sleeve from the housing, remove the inner part of the cigarette lighter from the dashboard towards the passenger compartment, and the outer part in the opposite direction.
