Golf, Jetta, Scirocco models have an electrical system with the negative pole of the battery and electrical devices connected to the "ground" (car body). All system components are of standard design. The instrument panel includes a printed circuit board that requires careful handling, especially when replacing lamps.
On the left under the dashboard is a fuse box that protects electrical circuits; next to it are installed relays for switching on headlights, windshield wipers/washers, direction indicators and hazard warning lights.
Most electrical components are easily accessible for replacement and maintenance.
Before starting work, be sure to disconnect the ground wire from the battery to prevent the possibility of fire or damage to electrical components due to an accidental short circuit. Remember that some circuits are energized even when the ignition is off.
