Golf, Jetta, Scirocco models have an electrical system with the negative battery and electrical appliances connected to "weight" (car body). All parts of the system are of conventional design. The instrument panel includes a printed circuit board that requires careful handling, especially when replacing lamps.
On the left under the dashboard is a fuse box that protects electrical circuits; next to it are relays for turning on headlights, wipers / windshield washers, direction indicators and alarms.
Most elements of electrical equipment are easily accessible for replacement and maintenance.
Before starting work, be sure to disconnect the wire "masses" battery to prevent fire or damage to electrical components due to accidental short circuits. Be aware that some circuits are energized even when the ignition is off.
