Switch the selector to position «R».
Remove a noise isolation under a transmission.
Disconnect the selector rod 2 from the selector lever/stem (pic. 3.11).
Switch the selector from position «R» into position «S».
At the same time, the selector rod and the gear change actuator must have easy running, otherwise, replace the selector rod or the gear change actuator.
Switch the selector to position «R».
Set the selector lever/stem on the gearbox to position «R». The lever must engage the park lock wheel, the front wheels are locked (cannot spin in the same direction at the same time).
The selector rod must press the selector lever/stem, otherwise adjust the selector rod.
Carefully press the selector rod against the selector lever/stem. When doing this, do not bend the selector lever/stem, otherwise the gearshift cannot be finely adjusted.
Adjust the selector rod.
Lever setting
Disconnect the selector rod from the selector lever/stem.
Switch the selector to position «S».
Set the selector lever/stem on the gearbox to position «D».
Remove the selector lever handle.
Be sure to follow the battery disconnection sequence.
Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery with the ignition off.
Remove the ashtray and shift boot from the center console.
Remove the gearshift cover.
Remove the frame from the gearshift drive.
Loosen the selector lever clamping bolt approximately one turn.
Carefully press the selector rod against the selector lever/stem so as not to bend the selector lever/stem, otherwise the gear shift cannot be adjusted accurately.
Determine the position of the selector, to do this, slightly shake the selector in the position «D» back and forth without switching from position «D».
Tighten the clamping bolt in this position with a torque of 10 Nm. To do this, you can use the nozzle T40031 (pic. 3.12).
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Install the ashtray and the center console shift boot.
Connect battery.
Carry out work operations after connecting the battery.
