Unscrew the five securing screws -1- and remove the rear left vehicle level sender G76- -2-.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Note: After replacing the rear left vehicle level sender -G76-, check the signal strength of the sender and carry out the basic setting of the headlights. If the signal strength of the rear left vehicle level sender -G7S- is outside the permissible range, the headlights cannot be adjusted to the basic setting.
Tighten screw connections to the specified tightening torques. Check rear left vehicle level sender -G76-. Carry out basic headlight setting.
Checking the ride height sensor
The vehicle level senders transmit the vehicle inclination information as a signal to the headlight range control unit -J431-. Check whether the vehicle level sender, rear left -G76- and the vehicle level sender, front left -678- transmit suitable signals to the headlight range control unit -J431-. The fault entry is not stored in the headlight range control unit -J431- in the following cases: if the vehicle level sensors were not installed correctly, if the vehicle level sensors are mechanically damaged, in vehicles with altered axle geometries (e.g. for low-slung vehicles).
Instruction: If the parameters of the ride height sensor are out of tolerance, then the basic setting of the headlight can be omitted.
